The Rao Makineni Lectureship

Endowed by PolyPeptide Laboratories and Murray and Zelda Goodman (2003)

The Makineni Lectureship honors Rao Makineni, a long time supporter of peptide science, peptide scientists, and the American Peptide Society. Presented at the biennial symposia, this award recognizes an individual who has made a recent contribution (within 2 years of the nomination deadline) of unusual merit to research in the field of peptide science and is recognized as an accomplished speaker. This award is intended to recognize original and singular discoveries rather than cumulative or lifetime contributions.

Please send a nomination letter (1,000 word limit) (self-nominations are acceptable) describing the candidate's original and singular contribution from the past two years, as well as a copy of the published paper dealing with this seminal contribution electronically to the APS Awards Committee Chair, Samuel H. Gellman, at gellman@chem.wisc.edu prior to November 1, 2008. This award will be presented during the 21st APS Symposium to be held in Bloomington, Indiana in June 2009.
